Niue is an island located in the South Pacific Ocean, often referred to as the "Rock of Polynesia". Niue is self-governing, but Niu is in a free association with New Zealand. This means that New Zealand's righteous head of state is also Niue's head of state. And most diplomatic relations are organized by New Zealand. Niue is situated 2,400 kilometers northeast of New Zealand and is located in the International Triangle of Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands.
